Some community members are duped of their money in the name of bringing then new projects.

Description

The VSACs of Kidilani, Chegere Sub-County raised an issue of some community members conning money from them in disguise of bringing them projects. They gave an example of one man from Ilee parish, Chegere Sub-County who masqueraded to be a site Coordinator for Mukwano and received a lot of money from the community claiming that he was going to bring for them improved seeds and this was in August 2011. From the VSAC only, he duped them of money worth 1,268,200/= excluding the one he received from other community members within the sub-county. However, up to date, this man has never given them neither the seeds nor paid back their money. He has actually bought himself a new motorcycle. The local authorities are still trying to hunt for him and will follow the law when he is got.
