By Niels Jansen

On day 2 I visited Wougnet. I met Milton Ainerhuanga one day earlier in HiveColab and he invited me to visit the projects they’re working on. Great to, finally, see with my own eyes the ‘Community Development through Technology‘ project on the 1%CLUB website. http://onepercentclub.com/projects/wougnetcentre/

On the projectpage Milton describes:’The money is needed to purchase equipment for a training centre in Kampala. This will include, a desktop computer, N-Computing equipment that allows simultaneous use of a single computer by multiple users, a projector (beamer) and a network printer (with scan and photocopy functionality).’

On the Wougnet office we met Milton from where we took a short walk to the trainingcentre. The project will provide skills training to members of the community of Kampala, primarily women, so that they will be able to solve social and economic challenges faced using appropriate technology at there disposal.

The space looks great an Milton has some great plans with it. The idea is not only to give trainings but also facilitate entrepreneurs and offer them workspaces to work on their plans. The facilities are good, the people I met are great. They make it work.
