Introducing ACFODE's New Board of Directors PDF Print E-mail

ACFODE is very pleased to announce the election of a new board which took place on 28th May 2011, when a new slate of Board Directors was elected, with Ms. Gertrude Ssekabira spearheading the election as ACFODE’s Chairperson and Alice Bongyeirwe as the Treasurer.

Juliet Nakyanzi and Muhwezi Tayebwa Florence won placements as Board Members.

The new board is expected to serve a 3 year term (2011 – 2014). It brings very valuable skills and a wide range of experience that will benefit ACFODE over the coming years in establishing her strategic direction since all Board Members have wide exposure and a deep understanding of the women’s cause in Uganda.

In her first speech as ACFODE’s chairperson, Ms Gertrude promised to support ACFODE in organizational planning and policy development; community and organizational development; and in fundraising and support development, in partnership with other Board Members.

Nonetheless, though happy to receive the new Board, ACFODE Secretariat would also like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Board of Directors for its service, which greatly and will continue to contribute to ACFODE’s institutional development.

A heartfelt thank you to everybody who ran for the Board, to all ACFODE members who showed up to vote and to all our well wishers: Your engagement and passion is what makes us strong!
