The Month of November has been dedicated as the Month of Women Entrepreneurs (MOWE). Celebrations for MOWE  will be conducted throughout November starting with a press conference at the Uganda Media Centre on 1st November 2010 at 10:00am.

 During MOWE, a combination of different events ranging from enterprise skills training in gender sensitive business development services, capacity building and training workshop on governance of Women Entrepreneurship Associations, small business exhibitions by women entrepreneurs and an advocacy forum on the economically generated gender based  violence have been planned. These events are aimed at creating awareness of the need for an enabling business environment for women entrepreneurs,  promoting the role of women entrepreneurship development in national development, recognizing the potential and  achievements of Women entrepreneurs in generating employment and incomes as well as showcasing women entrepreneurs role models. The month of Women Entrepreneurs is marked in 10 countries in Africa; Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia,  Zambia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Egypt and Malawi.

In bid to support the women entrepreneurs develop market linkages for their products and services; an exhibition has been planned for them at the National Theater Gardens from 18^th - 22^nd November 2010. The Participating Organisations are Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET), Uganda Women Entreprenuership Association (UWEAL),  Ministry of Gender, labour and social development (MGLSD), Council for Economic Empowerment of Women in Africa (CEEWA-U),  Uganda Investment Authority/ Women Entreprenuership Network (UIA/WEN), International Labour Organisation-Women Entrprenuership  development and Gender Equality project, Capital FM, Women & Young people's Leadership Academy.
