WOUGNET Marks 10 Years PDF Print E-mail

Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) celebrated 10 years of empowering women and women organizations through the use of ICTs on 1st and 2nd June 2010 at Hotel Africana in Kampala, Uganda. The team at WOUGNET thanks all the
individuals and organizations for honoring our invitation and contributing to making WOUGNET's 10th anniversary celebrations a success.

Some pictures from the WOUGNET Symposium/Exhibition are on WOUGNET @ Facebook

Among the activities to mark the celebrations, was a one week SMS awareness
campaign which took place from 24th to 29th May 2010, a two day exhibition
and a one day symposium.

We thank Mr. Ambrose Ruyoka the Commissioner from the Ministry of ICT for
representing the Honorable State Minister of ICT, Hon. Alintuma Nsambu, during
this celebration and for pledging support to WOUGNET.

To all our members, friends and wellwishers who attended and exhibited, we
are humbled by the love and commitment you showed and continue to show
WOUGNET.

To our partners; BROSDI, UCC, MoMoKla and all those that attended, thank you
so much for honoring our invitation to make presentations as well as
inviting some of your partners like UNICEF and the Faculty of ICT,
Makerere to come and share some of the mobile technology they have
developed.

Also to the symposium presenters, Ms. Hope Turyasingura from CEDOVIP/Raising
Voices and Mr Aramanzani Madanda from the Department of Women and Gender
studies, thank you for the informative discussions.

In a very special way, we thank four of WOUGNET's board members who managed
to spare some time and attend the anniversary celebrations. We do
appreciate.

Many thanks to the WOUGNET team that worked so hard to make this a success.
Thanks for the tweeter and facebook updates as well.

To all who participated, thank you for the contributions, lively debate,
intensive Q& A sessions and for the constructive criticisms .

We remain Optimistic that all our achievements and improved information
sharing and networking will enable you to boost your support and enable us
to respond to the increasing demand of ICT services to women and Women
organizations in Uganda.
