DiploFoundation is pleased to invite professionals from the ACP (Africa-Caribbean-Pacific) Group of States to register for a training workshop on Internet Governance issues (IG) and ICT policies, taking place from 13-14 May 2010 in cooperation with FOSSFA as part of the pre-conference training programme of the Fourth African Conference on FOSS and the Digital Commons, IDLELO4 that will be held from the 17th to 21st May, 2010 in Accra, Ghana.

The training workshop will give participants an overview of the multidisciplinary field of IG (including technical, legal, economic, socio-cultural and developmental aspects) and explain links to the international and regional IG processes (World Summit on Information Society and Internet Governance Forum). The discussions will highlight the importance of IG and ICT issues and its effect on national and regional policies Dates and Location: 13-14 May, 2010 at the AITI-KACE (Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT), Accra, Ghana

Open to all stakeholders from ACP (Africa-Caribbean-Pacific) countries, but limited to 20 participants on a first come basis

Note: Local costs for sponsored participants will be limited to the accommodation costs for days of the workshop at IDLELO 4 approved hotels.  An EU standard per diem will be given for the two days of the workshop to cover meals.   Local transport will be provided for by IDLELO 4 organisers.

International travel costs are to be covered by participants or their sending institutions.

This workshop is an event in a series of activities in the “Capacity Development in ICT Policy and Internet Governance for Africa – Caribbean – Pacific (ACP)” programme of DiploFoundation, with support of the European Commission and Secretariat of the ACP Group of States.
