THE G(IRLS) 20 SUMMIT NEEDS YOUR IDEAS NOW TO EMPOWER GIRLS & WOMEN PDF Print E-mail

Women Carry out two-thirds of the world's work hours, they receive one-tenth of the income and own less than a hundreth of its property.

It has been shown that for every dollar a woman earns she invests 80 cents in her family (compared to 30 cents by men). With 3.3 billion girls and women, it is easy to understand how vital girls and women are to the well being of their families, their communities, and their countries.

A pivotal study conducted by GS shows that educating girls and women leads to higher wages, lower fertility, reduced maternal and child mortality, and better health and education for current and future generations. Simply put, investing in girls and women and creating opportunities for them is imperative to building strong, healthy families, communities and countries. Strong and healthy countries boast productive and high performing economies, just societies and political stability.

This campaign is about generating ideas, providing tangible and achievable solutions and putting girls at the table. Join now .
