The camp comprised of sessions on the role of ICTs in development, UCC and the girl child as an ICT actor, using ICT for education, gender as a concept, gender issues in ICT and practical sessions on computer, Internet and networking tools. The girls were encouraged by Mr. Fred Otunnu, the manager communications and consumer affairs, UCC to participate in an essay competition where the best writers would be rewarded. The essay question was, “What is your role as a youth in the ICT development process in relation to innovation and creativity?”In a nutshell, the camp achieved its target of creating awareness on ICT and gender issues.
