Jackfruit is a huge fruit with wide sharpy like dotted skin. It is highly domesticated plant here in Mukono district such that you can hardly pass a homestead with out one or so many jackfruit trees. It grows fast and starts to fruit in about 18-20 months
Jackfruit is a huge fruit with wide sharpy like dotted skin. It is highly domesticated plant here in Mukono district such that you can hardly pass a homestead with out one or so many jackfruit trees. It grows fast and starts to fruit in about 18-20 months It is difficult to graft jackfruit plants because of its high sap in the bark so, it is seed planted, which makes it different. Gabula Atudde has been making, selling (at small scale) and using this jam for personal consumption. Jackfruit Jam MakingProcedure: 1. Sort out the semi ripe jackfruit 2. Blend the fleshy sweet part 3. To the pulp (product after blending), add citric acid, pectin and sugar 4. Boil to set and bottle while still hot 5. Packaging and labels ready for market. Its highly nutritious, self flavored and can be liked by all ages, its one of its kind. |
