The objective of this program is to promote and support the strategic and innovative application of ICTs. This program supports women and women organisations to access, utilise and apply ICTs in addressing their development problems. Under this program, WOUGNET activities may be categorised in 4 areas; Access to  Technology, ICT Training, Tech Support and Tech Tips all geared at enabling WOUGNET members to identify and strategically apply appropriate technologies. The TechSupport team can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Access to Technology
Under this activity, we look at the developments in technology on a global level, both in Software and Hardware. New applications and hardware maybe tested for functionality and appropriateness for the WOUGNET members and made known to the membership. Where testing cannot be done by the WOUGNET TechTeam, research on the technology and opinions of current users and experts is complied and provided to the membership to make an informed decision.

ICT Training
WOUGNET seeks to build the capacity of women and women organisations to use ICTs in strategic ways that increase their effectiveness and sustainability. This covers not only training in recent developments in the ICT sector by WOUGNET, but also training in ICT provided by other institutions that may be of value to the membership. Most of the training will be available in Uganda, but this section will also cover international and online training opportunities.

Tech Support
This activity addresses the hands-on technical support to WOUGNET members, which may range from basic troubleshooting, to website design, to technical advise as may be required by the membership; for example, how to set up a wireless network. The aim is to support women organisations to access, utilise and apply ICTs in addressing their development problems. Under this activity we also provide an opportunity for those that would like to volunteer their time and technical skills. These are both Ugandan and International volunteers.

Tech Tips
TechTips is designed to answer computer and other ICT-related queries of concern to WOUGNET members and our partners. At least one techtip is published each month, made available to the membership on the website, in a monthly e-newletter and in a quartely print newsletter.
