WOUGNET is located at Plot 55 Kenneth Dale, Off Kira Road, Kamwokya. Directions: After the Kamwokya market as you travel along Kira road, turn off to your left onto Kenneth Dale, (just before the football field and Kira Road Police Station). Once on Kenneth Dale, look out for the WOUGNET sign post on your left towards the end of the road. Click here for a map.

The Uganda Communications Commission 10th anniversary Symposium. PDF Print E-mail

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) 10th anniversary Symposium of regulating communications in the public interest took place at the Kampala Serena Hotel from 01st to 03rd October 2008.

To join the celebration, the Commission invited a total of thirty one (31) companies and organizations to exhibit their role in promoting the use of ICTs to Uganda and elsewhere. These included non governmental organizations like WOUGNET, private companies for example internet service providers, telecommunication companies, couriers companies, and learning institutions which were represented by Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET) was privileged to participate and exhibit at this event. WOUGNET showcased documentaries of her activities from the previous years which included;

-     Connecting the un-connectable

-    Fruits of empowerment

-     “Rural Women’s Voices” project

Presentations on the detailed overview of the three program areas in which WOUGNET operates were made to people who visited the stall. Newsletters and flyers were also given out to people who visited the stall.

86 people signed the WOUGNET guest book and these included Ministers, Members of Parliament and people from the civil society.

On the final day of the exhibition, WOUGNET was honored to have H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni the President of Uganda visit the WOUGNET stall. He was so impressed by the presentation from the WOUGNET team which comprised Milton Aineruhanga, Javie Ssozi, Maureen Agena and  Nora Odoi .Click here to view photos of the event.
