Ekimeeza for Women 30th July 2008; do not miss!! PDF Print E-mail

Dear Sister,

Warm greetings from Forum from Women in Democracy (FOWODE). As you may all recall, we agreed at the Uganda Feminist Forum in Jinja that one of the ways in which we could contribute to the revitalization of the women’s movement was through the holding of regular dialogues “Ekimeeza” to discuss issues that are critical to women. It was agreed that these dialogues would provide an opportunity to enhance the knowledge base of women on a range of issues and were a potentially powerful medium of mobilizing support for women’s issues.

On behalf of FOWODE, I would like to invite you to the first “Kimeeza” on “Working with other women: Househelp” scheduled to take place on 30 July 2008 from 2:00-4:00pm at the FOWODE offices (Plot 15 Vubya Road, Ntinda-Nakawa Road, Opposite Ntinda Market). It has been noted that most of the work we do is aimed at empowering others especially women and yet there are ‘other’ women like our househelps that we disempower through our engagement with them. It is hoped that this dialogue will enable us to realise the importance of working together as women in our diversity to enable us to build a critical mass for advocacy on women’s issue.
