1. Today's question: Which ICTs are most effective in reducing poverty?
2. Janet Achora: New ICTs; Community radio stations. Mobile and village phones and any other ICTs that use Visuals and Voice in localized languages. Old ones; Community meetings.
3. Agnes Kadama: It is of cause the traditional ICTs like the radio - in this case the community radio, coz the bulk of the population lives in rural communities - and they are the poor, the women, who cannot afford modern ICTs which are even a myth to them.
4. Immelda Kahangirwe: Newspapers, typing and photocopying services, telephone and internet are the best poverty reduction providers.
5. Cissy Nyarwa: Radios rank high if well utilized, cellphones, internet through telecenters, posters.
6. Betty Mulemezi: Radio because majority can get access to it even at the neighbour’s place and wealth knowledge can be achieved for action.
7. Etheldreda Yatuha: Radios.
8. Diana Butegwa: Mobile phones and community radio stations most effective ICTs.
9. Constantine Bitwayiki: Rural and Urban community information centers reinforced with community radio.
10. Margaret Kakembo: radios, cellphones, internet would be good but access is a problem to us in rural areas.
11. Betty Akullu: Telephone, radio, internet and posters are the best for poverty reduction.
12. Ednah Karamagi: From experience there is no more effective method, what works for one may not else where. Use a cocktail of them 4 better results though consider adaptability, cost, practicality, access etc.
13. Esta Kiwazi: Radio because its one medium that reaches the populace in the safety of their location and is literacy/pocket friendly.
14. Paul Othieno: Rural community information centers reinforced by internet facilities, books, mobile phones and radio stations.
15. Lillian Nalwoga: It’s the combination of both traditional and modern ICTs (radio, mobile, internet etc). We can’t concentrate on one or two tools.
16. Mercy Apio KIC Apac: Radio reaches people who can't read, see and write because an average of 4 in every 10 families own radios, even in very very poor communities, radio's penetration is vast.
