Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA) announce the appointment of Ms. Christine Butegwa Acuc who joined as the Regional Coordinator, Africa Programmes with effect from 3rd March 2008 based at our New Head Office in Kampala, Uganda. Christine is the first Regional Coordinator, Africa Programmes in line with the structure of the repositioned AMwA.
She will be in charge of identification, planning, development and implementation of policy advocacy and programme initiatives relevant to African women, within Africa, in line with AMwA's mission and objectives. She will also coordinate and develop the national, sub-regional and Africa Wide leadership development programmes such as the African Women's Leadership Institutes (AWLIs); Identify, implement and support research initiatives; Promote and uphold AMwA's corporate image in Africa and ensure effective communications with all stakeholders. Ms. Butegwa Acuc comes on board AMwA with a wealth of experience of over 9 years in advocacy, communications, research, and programme development and management. She has previously worked with the African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET), Associates for Change, Makerere University, and Rhino Fund.
