WOUGNET accesses and applies ICTs to create opportunities for information sharing and the exchange of knowledge. While our emphasis is directed towards Internet-based technologies, we are also interested in how these technologies can be integrated with traditional means of information exchange and dissemination including telephones, SMS, radio, video, television and print media.

WOUGNET is also one of the country focal points, the other being BROSDI - http://www.brosdi.or.ug, for the Citizen Journalism in Africa (CJA) project - http://www.citizenjournalismafrica.org. The Hivos/SANGONeT CJA Project aims at building the capacity of civil society organisations to use online and offline citizen journalism as a means of publication, lobby, networking and knowledge sharing with their constituencies. Supported by the European Union, the project will be implemented over the next three years. Under the CJA project, WOUGNET and WOUGNET members will receive training in objective reporting and documentation of events. They will also be supported to share their stories and profile their activities via the CJA website. The CJA website will provide yet another avenue for WOUGNET and its members to share their stories.
