The Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) is organising the Third Idlelo Conference from the 16th till the 18th of March 2008. The venue for the Idlelo 3 Conference is Dakar, Senegal. The theme for the Idlelo 3 Conference is: “Making the Knowledge Economy Work for Africa”. The Idlelo 3 Conference will bring together participants’ representative of governments, businesses and civil society organisations for three days of intense discussions about the state of the knowledge economy in Africa.
Placed under the Chairmanship of Mr Habib Sy, Senegalese Minister of Infrastructures, Land Transport, Telecommunications and ICT; the presence of Ms Geraldine Fraser – Moloketi, South African Minister of Public Service and Administration, Mr Moustapha Sourang, Senegalese Minister of Education and Ms Innocence Ntap, Minister of Public Service, Employment, Labour and Professional Oragnisations; Idlelo 3 is poised to be a rallying point for FOSS expertise, exchange, showcasing, innovation, training and projects. Following Idlelo 1 in South Africa and Idlelo 2 in Kenya, the third edition of this important African conference will be taking place in Senegal from Sunday the 16th to Thursday the 20th of March, 2008. The Plenary and exhibition are being hosted at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD II), while the workshops and hands-on trainings shall be at Campus Numérique de la Francophonie, Dakar, Senegal. Idlelo 3 will be an excellent opportunity for you to contribute to and benefit from Making the Knowledge Economy Work for Africa.
