These are some of the words that many people echo when you mention GENDER. As if gender means WOMEN!! As I attend the Digital Natives: My bubbles, My space and My Voice workshop at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, I cannot stop thinking about yesterday’s morning session on “Keyword paring”.

Being the first of its kind in Africa, the Share Fair was a positively interactive event, which took place at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. The share Fair attracted about 300 innovators, researchers, Communication specialists, Farmers, and leader around Africa to share best practices and approaches that help stimulate and propagate Africa’s Agricultural and Rural Development Knowledge.

The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) , in collaboration with FARA, Yam-Pukri, CAFAN, AYF, ANAFE, PAFPNET, organised an essay writing contest on “Youth and ICTs in Agriculture and Rural Development”, aimed at identifying innovative solutions on challenges faced by youth in agriculture and rural areas using Information and Communication Technologies.

“Strengthening East Africa’s critical Internet Resources ”Thinking globally; Acting locally” is the theme for the Third East African Internet governance forum (EAIGF) which is currently taking place at imperial royal in Kampala Uganda. The forum started on 11th August and ends on 13th August.
The forum was opened by Eriya Kategaya, the first Deputy Prime minister and minister of East African Community Affairs in Uganda who represented the prime minister Apollo Nsibambi.
Hon. Kategaya emphasized the need to create awareness on Internet Governance issues within the East Africa region and to enact enabling laws for Internet growth and cyber security.
