Our next Mobile Kampala meeting, on the theme, "Mobile innovation in emerging markets: lessons learned for the innovation process - from research and ideation to design and development" is to be hosted by Victoria University Monday 6th February from 5:30 PM, and will opened by Uganda's Minister for ICT, Hon Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, and chaired by Grameen Foundation Uganda's Country Director, Sean Krepp. Orange Uganda are sponsoring the catering during the informal networking hour as well as the Internet Everywhere, distributed to delegates by WiFi.

We first ran Mobile Web East Africa in February 2010 - the event was a massive success, it was alive with discussion and interaction, received huge amounts of media coverage (including being featured on the national evening news) but most importantly delivered for the attendees. Mobile Web East Africa is part of a series of events that include Mobile Web Africa 2009, 2010 and 2011, Mobile West Africa 2011 and Mobile Entertainment Africa 2011.

LONDON, Dec 14 (Reuters) - A policy aimed at ensuring future security of food supplies must centre around the world's 500 million smallholder producers, many of whom are women who farm less than two hectares of land, a leading United Nations official said on Wednesday.
