The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation has produced Make Room for Peace - A guide to women's participation in peace processes written and edited by Isabelle Nilsson. The manual was created to to enhance the participation of women in peace negotiations. The guide was developed on the foundation of evidenced based research, seeking to equip third party decision makers (nationally and internationally) with effective strategies to engage women and civil society in the process of peace. Strategies involve creating an environment to build capacity and the further utilization of taught skills. |

Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) introduces 89.5 SPEAK FM a community radio station based in Gulu district. FOWODE's dream to establish a community radio was born in 2005. We thought that a radio would present the opportunity of a more sustained and long lasting space within the Acholi Sub region where women, young and old women and men at the grassroots could continuously engage in debates geared towards promoting good governance, democracy, women’s intergenerational leadership and related national development issues. Through SPEAK FM, FOWODE hopes that the people in this region will be facilitated to deepen their understanding and commitment to advocating for gender equality, social justice and pro poor values. In addition it is hoped that a community of activists on issues of gender equality in decision making processes will be built and sustained.
