The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence campaign started on 25November 2011. The theme of this year's campaign is "From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Let's Challenge Militarism and End Violence Against Women”. This annual international campaign runs from 25 November, International Day against violence against Women, to 10December, International Human Rights Day, in order to symbolically link violence against women and human rights and to emphasize that such violence is a human rights violation. In Uganda, women activists are championing this great cause through a number of activities:
