Third Lango Forum on e-Agriculture Print
Thursday, February 18 2010 by magena

The project Enhancing Access to Agricultural Information using Information Communication Technologies in Apac district (EAAI) started in 2005 with a series of meetings with key stakeholders and members of the Apac Community to identify information needs in Apac. It was found out that lack of access to information was the major factor hindering agricultural productivity for the rural populace hence the inception of this project.

The Technical Center for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation ACP EU (CTA), the major funder to this project has widened the scope of its operation to cover Northern Uganda in general with an overall objective of improving the productivity levels and livelihoods of the rural women in Apac district and Northern Uganda in general. The EAAI project  has also expanded to Gulu, Lira and Oyam.

As part of the project implementation, the Kubere Information Center (KIC) and Women of Uganda Network (WOUGNET)  is organizing the Third Lango Forum on e-Agriculture with a major objective of sensitizing the rural women farmers, policy makers and the community in general on the role of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) in Agricultural and Rural development.

Location: Apac District in Northern Uganda.
