Step-by-Step Process To Download Acrobat Reader

Acrobat Reader is a 'must have' for all internet users. This is because one of the most used file formats for exchange of documentation is .PDF. This file format can only be read if one has Acrobat Reader installed. The following are instructions on how to get this FREE software. To Download Acrobat Reader

Visit the website http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
  1. Scroll down to reveal and complete the Step 1 by selecting the operating system/platform you use in order to download the right version of Acrobat Reader. The default platform is Windows 95. Click on the download button to start the download.
  2. You shall be prompted to either 'run this program from its current location' or 'save this program to disk'. Select the latter and click OK.
  3. A message prompting you to insert a diskette in drive A might appear. Click cancel to clear this message.
  4. You shall be prompted, to select the location in which the downloaded Acrobat Reader installation file is to be saved. Select the location and click save to complete the download process.
  5. A window indicating the progress of the download shall appear. At this point, if you click cancel, the download shall be abandoned and you would have to start again from Step 1.

To install Acrobat Reader

  1. When the download process is completed, you shall be prompted to either open the downloaded file, the folder in which the file was saved or to close the screen. Select Open to install the file.
  2. You shall be prompted to select the folder in which to install Acrobat Reader. Click Next to continue installing in the default location.
  3. Completion of the Acrobat Reader setup process is indicated by a message thanking you for choosing the program. Click OK to exit.

Using Acrobat Reader for the first time

  1. Click on the Acrobat Reader icon, located on the desktop, to start the program. The first time you use Acrobat Reader after installation, you shall be prompted to read a License Agreement. After reading the agreement, Accept or Decline the terms by clicking on the relevant button. If you decline the terms, then the program shall exit. The program shall only open completely if you accept the terms of the License Agreement.
  2. After accepting the License Agreement, Acrobat Reader Opens. You can now start using Acrobat Reader.
