Rural Outreach programme, The Other Voice publication, Radio project.
On August 24, 2001, UMWA launched a new community radio station that will be a forum for debating gender issues. The station, 101.7 Mama FM, will cover women's issues as well as news of importance to other marginalized groups. The station has a broadcast radius of 400 kilometers. Stories are broadcast in seven languages: English, Luganda, Runyoro, Rutoro, Ateso, Luo and Swahili.
