Main Goal of Luwero Women Development Association:
To improve the economic, social, political and leadership status of Luweero women, through working in solidarity, exchanging ideas and experiences, skills training, solidarity action and networking, in order to empower them and to reduce the levels of poverty, ignorance, marginalisation and discrimination, isolation, apathy and inferiority complex and gradually eliminate violation of women rights of Luwero.
OBJECTIVES:
- To strengthen and expand a network of communication, among women in Luwero and to facilitate easy access to information.
- To equip women, and youth with skills of conflict resolution and peace building, as a means of curbing domestic violence in their homes
- To facilitate women to know and appreciate their human and constitutional rights and obligations, as rightful citizens.
LUWODA has a membership of eighty, (80) members of whom Fifty-Two (52), are active women and men, 20 youth and 8 men.
Membership is open to all those interested in the Association activities and those that are positive towards improvement of their human capacity.
One becomes a member after paying a membership fees.
LUWODA is a Community Based Organisation (CBO) affiliated with NVIWODA.
