WOUGNET Meeting: Information sharing on the application of ICTs
January 15, 2003
Fairway Hotel, Kampala, Uganda

The meeting on "Information sharing on the application of ICTs" was organised by WOUGNET and co-sponsored by I-Network. The major purpose of the meeting was to share information on the application of information and communication technologies (ICTs).

The meeting was facilitated by WOUGNET Coordinator, Ms Dorothy Okello. Members made presentations on the benefits and challenges they face as being WOUGNET members. The presentations were kicked of by a panel consisting of three organizations including Council for Economic Empowerment for Women of Africa (CEEWA-U), Isis Women's International Cross-Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE) and Lungujja Women Association (LWA). The panel presentations were followed by an open discussion among meeting participants. The meaningful and fruitful discussion of the participants contributed to the success of the meeting.

The meeting concluded with participants identifying issues and recommending a way forward in the application of ICTs in general as well as specific recommendations for WOUGNET.

WOUGNET was grateful to I-Network for the financial support provided and the participants for their contributions that saw the realization of the workshop.
